Mr Rabi Bauri is a driver of hyva (JH-10AG-6005). He belongs to Topatana village near Phushri crossroad. He has 25 years of experience in driving. One day our officers observed that Mr. Rabi was arguing with us about maintenance of his hyva. “I am not responsible about hyva maintenance. It’s totally depend upon owners. There is no benefit for us.” On that day he was not ready to listen to us.
As per our planning, next day our officers met him in morning meeting at Silo area and discussed life related story and shared some maintenance related incident. Some driver and helper said that drivers were totally responsible for maintenance of hyvas. On that day he was not arguing with us.
After two days, again our officer personally counseled him in front of his partner and requested him to visit his home. He agreed andnext day our officers visited his home and appreciated him in front of his wife, father and his son and opened discussion with them about value of life. We reminded him that he was the only income source of his family and if he is not maintaining his hyva properly, some time he could face an accident, not his owner.
After this visit, he started maintaining his hyva properly. Once as per our appreciation program, his hyva won the prize. His hyva was getting 200 marks out of 200 marks. Now he is maintaining his hyva properly and he is our volunteer and motivates his colleagues for maintaining their hyvas and safe driving.
