At first David Das was working in TGS company at Tata. Then he had joined in Tarapore company under Sitaram Pradhan 8 month ago. David has 2 years’ experience in construction line. It means he has lot of experience to be a smart worker. In spite of that David was totally opposite in terms of behavior and attitude to safety and quality. First we noticed David in the game show of Independence Day celebration at Project camp of JEIM. He had set at a side with a friend and when we called him to participate he ignored us like nothing. After the programme we asked him why you didn’t participate, he said I don’t play such type of silly game. At that moment we clarified that it will be vital challenge to change him. Also at site David works of his own choice knowing that problem and consequence. When any supervisor or senior tell him to do something he said that is not my job. David always argued with others regarding safety and say if we will always follow safety then when will do the job. In this way he developed his negative attitude regarding safety.
Then we started regular follow of to David and deeply observed his behavior. In site we tried to discuss with him about very issue and incident of this site as well as other site. In TBM we gave special attention to him and met him in colony adequately. In every week we made a room visit to his room and build a sound relationship with him. Also we decided to give him a role in the drama of our safety week celebration. It created a vital change in his mind and then he started to realize the value of safety. David played the role 3 times in the skit during theme launch. He tried to say his point during TBM. In colony programme he actively participated like bhajan, video programme etc. Now a days David have created a example for the workers, everyone knows him for his dedication towards safety. He is also popular among the officer level.
