How an acting in a drama changed an attitude of a worker

Can you believe that acting have changed an attitude of worker named Santosh Gop, who work as a CO₂ welder in GIB Company at Rourkela steel plant? In nature Santosh was very hard working, sincere and reliable person. But in case of safety he was very neglect. He always   avoided safety for the perfection of his job. In order to complete his task in time he accepted the short cut and unsafe path. He always ignored Tool Box Meeting and such type of safety related programme. Santosh had a wrong attitude that safety breaks the speed of work.

Then Santosh came to work in JEIM under the same company GIB. And he had continued his as usual attitude in this site also. Santosh was extremely familiar to the management because he always completed his job in time or before time. First when we met Santosh we observed very sharply to his working style and attitude. We tried to keep contact with him but he ignored us. Then we started constant visit on his room in colony and tried to keep familiar relation with him. Also we met him in site and discussed various safe unsafe observation and incident of this site as well as of other site. Gradually he started to receive our safety motivational thought and changed his negative notion on safety. Santosh attended Tool Box Meeting regularly and tried to follow the safety motivational stories. At that time safety week was coming and we contacted Santosh to give him a role in our drama “Indra Lok me steel plant” as because he was very good actor and he accepted from his site. He played the role of Yamdut and succeeded the drama as well as the programme. In the drama Santosh said some sound safety points and it was his own creation.

After that Santosh was one of the active safety worker in the site. Now Santosh always had shown his eagerness on every safety programme and tried to lead from his side. He had participated actively and sincerely in every celebration at colony with us. In this way we promoted and strengthen one attitude for safety. Santosh was extremely inspired by AAKAR and its safety motivational values.
